Cascade Ride, June 4, 2023 - Lk Sammamish Loop

Since I had to lead a ride just the day before, I elected to have our Sunday ride be a bit easier (for me).  This is a classic loop with a great coffee stop at the PCC store in Issaquah.

Cascade Mentoring Ride, June 3, 2023

I help a Ride Leader candidate with his second mentoring ride so he could finish qualifying to be a Ride Leader. We had a good group although one family of three ended up struggling a bit to finish the ride. We coached them to the end but I think they realized that even a short ride without too many hills takes some preparation.  Hopefully we'll see them on future rides!!

Scout Ride 2023 05 31 - Looking for route details for future rides

Two others joined me in an informal ride to explore some route options which we might use in future rides when we head toward Seattle (Magnolia, Ballard Locks, etc) and in particular a different return route toward Woodinville.  Fun ride - getting to the Troll might be difficult when we have a large group.....

Cascade Ride May 28, 2023 - Seattle Waterfront

Our ride this week (the day before Memorial Day) took us over to Lake Union and the Seattle Waterfront. I was surprised we didn't have more traffic (cars and pedestrians) and the route didn't need any modification based on our experience on this ride. That might not always be the case however.

Cascade Ride May 26, 2023 - Edmonds Waterfront

Our group ride this week went to Edmonds Waterfront on a glorious sunny day!  Going up to Edmonds is always a fun ride but particularly so when the conditions are so right.

May 24, 2023 Ride on the North Lake Loop route from home

Still testing myself out after Covid.  I elected for a relatively easy route around the north end of Lake Washington but did include the hill back up to our home!  It seemed fine with no ill effects from the Covid episode. Back to riding per usual!

Sunday Coffee Ride, Lake Washington Loop, May 20, 2023

Since this was a longer ride and I was at the end of my first week after Covid, I elected to use the ebike and share ride leading responsibilities.  We had a faster group and a "normal" paced group go out so the riders could be a little more coherent as a group.  Beautiful sunny day!  Also since it was a cycling weekend in Seattle, Lake Washington Blvd in town was closed to cars - we had it to ourselves without traffic!  And there were eagles in their nest by Redmond City Hall! Very cool!
