Sunday Coffee Ride, Lake Washington Loop, May 20, 2023

Since this was a longer ride and I was at the end of my first week after Covid, I elected to use the ebike and share ride leading responsibilities.  We had a faster group and a "normal" paced group go out so the riders could be a little more coherent as a group.  Beautiful sunny day!  Also since it was a cycling weekend in Seattle, Lake Washington Blvd in town was closed to cars - we had it to ourselves without traffic!  And there were eagles in their nest by Redmond City Hall! Very cool!

Scout Ride for a Mill Creek route, May 18, 2023

I wanted to do a Mill Creek ride for our Sunday outings but needed to familiarize myself with some of the road details. Since I was still in week one post-Covid, I again used the ebike.  Learned that some of my proposed routing was pretty good and some was awful!  Need to refine the route a bit but it has promise. And, who knew there was a Hindu Temple up there!

First solo ride post Covid, May 16, 2023

Ventured out on my first ride (solo) after Covid.  Scouting the final details for part of the Lk Washington loop we will use next Sunday.  Decided to take the ebike to give me options if I suddenly run out of energy!  I lack a backup plan for rescue as son and Bride are both out of the country on other trips.  Ride went well and I didn't feel any major energy decreases...although the ebike may have helped there a bit!

Finally negative for Covid! May 14, 2023

With the Paxlovid and a bit of luck, I felt really good by week's end and tested negative on Sunday May 14!  Much quicker resolution than the last time I had Covid which lasted almost two weeks.  While not ready to go outside and ride, I did do a short trainer ride and felt pretty good with the limited loading.

No Riding! Covid positive test on May 7, 2023

Had a bit of a sore throat on Saturday afternoon. By Sunday morning (and a tough night), I knew something was awry.  Did the dreaded Covid test....came back positive. Fortunately, Jeff and Karil were able to pick up my ride leading responsibilities (and did a great job!) so I didn't "need" to spread the disease further.

Thanks to Kristy, neighbor, she went in on Monday to pick up the Paxlovid and drop it off at our gate.

And, best of all, Lizz was still in the UK so she could not get it from me! A story I would never live down.
